PDMS to STAAD.Pro
Input File: PDMS Neutral File (.n)
Output File: STAAD.Pro File (.std)
PD2STPRO, a stand-alone 3D Plant Design - to - STAAD.Pro Interface program, is used to transfer structural geometry, their section and material properties, support conditions, etc. from AVEVA PDMS to the structural analysis software Bentley STAAD.Pro.
At present, separate interfaces are available to transfer structural models from PDMS and CADMATIC to STAAD.Pro.

Analysis model in STAAD.Pro
PD2STPRO has two parts. The first is the Neural File creation program, which converts structural section elements modeled in the 3D Plant Design software into an intermediate neutral file. The second part is the windows executable PD2STPRO.exe, which reads this intermediate neutral file and maps it against the Material mapping DB and Section mapping DB to identify the valid STAAD.Pro section and material names that correspond to the section and material specifications of the 3D Plant Design software. This PD2STPRO executable finally generates the batch input file (*.std), which can be opened and viewed in STAAD.Pro.
The execution sequence is as follows.

Salient Features of 3D Plant Design - to - STAAD.Pro Interfaces
- Transfers one-dimensional, straight, prismatic structural sections from Plant Design software to STAAD.Pro with proper orientation & connection.
- Transfers support conditions, if provided in the Plant Design software.
- Transfers member end releases, if specified in the Plant Design software.
- Members having only axial stiffnesses are transferred as "Truss elements", if specified so in the Plant Design software.
